A double bill featuring the UC Jazz Ensemble, directed by Ted Moore and the Berkeley Nu Jazz Collective, directed by Myra Melford.

Featuring the Music Department's varied and diverse performance activities, the Department of Music presents a series of free weekly concerts each semester in Hertz Hall. Inaugurated in 1953, these concerts are very popular and well attended by those on campus and in the wider community. Traditionally on Wednesdays, each concert begins promptly at 12:15 and ends by 1pm.

Berkeley Arts & Letters - MORGAN JERKINS - This Will Be My Undoing: Living at the Intersection of Black, Female, and Feminist in (White) America

Jerkins' highly-anticipated collection of linked essays interweaves her incisive commentary on pop culture, feminism, black history, misogyny, and racism with her own experiences to confront the very real challenges of being a black woman today -- perfect for fans of Roxane Gay's Bad Feminist, Rebecca Solnit's Men Explain Things to Me, and Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie's We Should All Be Feminists.
