From the Ashes

No Coal in Oakland invites you to a special screening of the new documentary "From the Ashes." This film captures Americans in communities across the country as they wrestle with the legacy of the coal industry, and what its future should be. In stories spanning from Appalachia to the West's Powder River Basin, the film presents compelling and often heartbreaking stories of individuals and communities devastated by the collapse of the coal industry, and what's at stake for jobs, our economy, health, and climate.

After the film, there will be a panel and audience participation to look at the struggle against the proposed coal export terminal in West Oakland, and how our effort fits into our dreams of a Just Transition away from fossil fuels.

Admission is free. Please encourage folks to attend this film showing and discussion about how the struggle against coal in Oakland affects people in Oakland, Utah, and Asia.
