MORI delivers punchy, hook-laden alternative rock/pop you can (and should) scream along to in the car. Fronted by lead singer, songwriter & guitarist Mori Einsidler, the band took shape in Brooklyn, NY in the winter of 2014. She is now hitting the road for this West Coast tour as a duo with help from lead guitarist and vocalist Sam Palumbo of Patch Kid.
MORI crafts songs that ache and burst, recalling the ear candy of indie-pop duo Tegan & Sara packed with the voltage of alt-rock overlords Mitski, Paramore and Brand New. 2016 has been a breakout year for MORI with the release of her EP Better For You (co-produced by Asher Zeitschik and Lucas Hass), which has garnered praise from Popdust, Impose Magazine, The Deli NYC and The Revue, along with solo and full band tours across the Northeast, including a stint at Brooklyn's Northside Festival and sold out shows across NYC.
Patch Kid is the Indie/Math Rock brainchild of Brooklyn-based musician Sam Palumbo. Patch Kid joins MORI on this West Coast tour in support of his debut EP Bad at Friends, out February 17th. The forthcoming release recalls the indie rock songwriting sensibilities of Death Cab for Cutie and Built to Spill, with complex guitar architecture that would feel at
home on an American Football record.
Bad at Friends is a reflection of Palumbo's transition from Philadelphia to NYC, and the
malaise that can accompany adapting to a new place while trying to hang on to old relationships. The album was recorded and mixed at the Gallery Recording Studio by Jon Markson (Such Gold/Taking Meds), and features the frenetic, lyrical drumming of Matt Covey (Such Gold/Shai Halud).
Tickets are $15 and are available in advance at the link below or at the door the night of the show. Advance tickets are available at the link below. Doors open one half hour before show time. We accept cash only at the door (ATMs are nearby).
