With large scale sculpture, audio/video work, and a commemorative stamping station, Kathy Aoki takes on the rampant Hello Kitty obsession, the high tech housing crisis and museum sponsorship - all in one show! Come and visit her museum installation devoted to the rise and fall of the Hello Kitty Monument.

Intertribal dancing, contest dancing, round dancing, exhibition dancing. Native American foods, Arts & Crafts and American Indian culture. Free.

This year’s pow wow marks the 24th anniversary of the new holiday. The first Indigenous Peoples Day in Berkeley took place on October 12, 1992, on the 500th anniversary of the beginning of the struggle of the Indigenous People of the Americas to retain their culture and identity under the extremely difficult conditions of European colonization.
Celebrate with us in honor of all our ancestors, the people continuing the spirit today, and future generations.

MFP&T19 breaks with its tradition of gallery and proscenium concerts to assemble for a night of rock in alternate tunings. Each act balances experimental and rock idioms, from heavy drone to swirling psychedelia, giving audiences not only a rare glimpse into the often surprising influences and passions of these avant-garde performers, but an experience of the through lines to the work they are more commonly known for creating.
