Elder Voices at NBSCC

WENDY REID (Violin) and GEORGE TINGLEY (Piano)
George Tingley and Wendy Reid have been performing together since they met at the University of Southern California in the 1970’s. Both went off to Paris to study composing with the legendary Nadia Boulanger. They were married for 8 years and have a 28 year old daughter, Ariel.
George is well-known for dozens of published educational piano solos as well as his work with Olympic figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi. George has played for elders and convalescent homes, he is composer in residence at the Point Richmond Methodist Church, and plays Tuesdays at The Hotel Mac in Point Richmond. He also teaches piano.
Wendy is an avante garde composer who teaches at Mills College. Wendy composes for and performs with her parrot Lulu who was featured at the Other Minds 19 Festival at The SF Jazz Center. Wendy’s website is www.treepieces.net.
Today they will have fun and play favorite ballads from the 30’s and 40's, Beatles as well as Schubert.
