Stephanie Bruce Concert

Singer/composer/lyricist/arranger/pianist Stephanie Bruce has a repertoire that is very personal. Starting out as a folk style singer/songwriter, she took a long detour through the musical labyrinth of jazz, and discovered its rich vocabulary. The result is a collection of original songs and arrangements that draw on the sophisticated harmonic and melodic sensibility of jazz, and the attention to detail in the lyric that is the centerpiece of contemporary singer/songwriter material. She will be performing several new, soon to be recorded tunes, and a few from her previous three CDs. In addition to her own tunes, she will be singing a few arrangements of tunes by some favorite familiar songwriters.

"...She writes. Harmony like a piano player, melodies like a horn player, imagery and lyrics that tell stories" Glenn Cronkhite

"Stephanie resonates her sincerity, passion, and intelligence" Art Lande

Stephanie will be appearing with a trio of Bay Area musicians:

Jonathan Alford - piano
Peter Barshay - bass
Alan Hall - drums
