"Stay Amazed" Book Launch, Poetry Reading & Klezmer Dance Party

In 2013, a year after the death of her husband, poet Morton Felix, ceramic artist and Berkeley Arts Ambassador Susan Duhan Felix asked family and friends from her far-flung art and literary circles for a birthday poem. Thirty people wrote poems and participated in readings that Susan organized. Those joyful readings inspired more poems — and the poetry collection Stay Amazed was born.

Many of the writers whose poems are featured in the book will read at the launch party: Chana Bloch, Avi Duhan, Lisa Felix-Smartt, Toby Furash, Susan Griffin, Joyce Jenkins, Elise Peeples, Jahan Khalighi, Rafael Jesus Gonzalez, Raymond Nat Turner, David Shaddock, Cheselyn Amato and Jon Kwak.

Other contributors to the book include California Poet Laureate Emeritus Al Young, novelist Jonathan Lethem, and translator and poet Anita Barrows.

The circumnavigation of a vinyl disk. Electrons race blindly toward their appointment with doom. A crackle meets a grackle. Needle on the arm, jack in the bus, bird in the aether, clouds of popcorn spitting 3-note tunes.

Will Northlich-Redmond - solo electronics

BlipVert is the "hyper-manic, freeform electronica" - Boomkat.com project of composer Will Northlich-Redmond. As BlipVert, Will crams musical concepts into "a condensed blur of electronics that borrows from everything: jazz, glitch, metal, IDM, funk, classical, and probably at least a few genres that haven't even been named yet." - Regenmag.

Will manages to create a world of his own, a place where each second displays a multitude of ideas, and where no idea ever repeats itself.
