Performing La pazzia senile, Adriano Banchieri (1568-1634). A staged production of Banchieri’s madrigal comedy making fun of the great stock comedy characters Pantalone and Il Dottore, always in hopeless love and always thwarted, and always singing comic songs. With voices, and instrumental ensemble performing contemporary dances, sonatas, and grounds.

Join MUSA in a program of the new and the old as we explore military exploits and folly, featuring the adventures of Don Quixote in Telemann's “Burlesque de Quixotte” Ouverture-Suite, Schmelzer's Fechtschule (Fencing School), and a MUSA commission inspired by the idea of folly and folia in our inaugural Art Inspiring Art series with guest composer Danny Clay.

Bay Area favorites, the Vinaccesi Ensemble, return to northern Italy at the Berkeley Fringe Festival & Exhibition this June, for a program of delightful and rarely heard Italian madrigals and canzonettas by the most famous Baroque Jewish composer, Salamone Rossi hebreo of Mantua and psalm settings from Venetian Benedetto Marcello's monumental Estro poetico-armonico.
