Richard Mix (bass) and Allan Crossman (piano) present Lorca settings by Crossman, Rautavaara's first Rilke cycle, the 5 Sonette an Orpheus, Mahler's Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen (Songs of a Wayfarer), and a bouquet of whimsical and grave melodies by Poulenc.

In The Flow WEST - Festival

Sacramento's Annual jazz and creative music celebration, better known as The In The Flow Festival will expand to Berkeley, CA on Saturday, 5/10 at the Berkeley Arts Festival Space. Now in its' 7th year, In the Flow will present an eclectic night of music in Berkeley that combines both Sacramento, Bay Area and Southern California artists.

Shadow master Midiyanto manipulates dozens of puppets as he tells a tale from Hindu-Javanese mythology in English & Javanese, with musical accompaniment by Gamelan Sari Raras (Midiyanto and Ben Brinner, directors), featuring guest drummer Heri Purwanto and vocalist Heni Savitri. Not suitable for pre-school children.

Bolo at Subterranean

'Bolo' is a dynamic ensemble featuring the artistry of percussionist Surya Prakasha (Trio Paz), flute and bass player Eliyahu Sills (Qadim Ensemble), and multi-instrumentalist Evan Fraser (Hamsa Lila, Stellamara, Dogon Lights). With a fresh improvisational approach, the group creates songs that will move, uplift and transport. Featuring African sourced grooves, African and Indian melodies, and sacred folk songs from different parts of the world, 'Bolo' speaks to the heart and to a musical language that bridges continents, producing entrancing music that will inspire your body and soul.
