Helen Butler and James Randell are student artists from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. They present work made whilst studying abroad at UC Berkeley for the 2013-14 session, including painting, collage, print, photography and installation.

Baraka Moon at La Peña

All original music ignites from the ancient Qawaali Sufi trance songs of Pakistan, Indian classical ragas, Middle Eastern overtones and African percussion, plus the Australian Aboriginal didgeridoo.

Sukhawat Ali Khan’s energetic musical signature springs from ancient traditions. Sukhawat is the 12th generation of an unbroken lineage of master Pakistani and Indian vocalists.
Stephen Kent is acknowledged as one of the contemporary world’s pioneer virtuosos on the Australian Aboriginal didgeridoo. During a twenty five year career with the didge, Stephen has developed an approach that is unmistakably his own,
Peter Warren and Anastasi Mavrides have recently joined Baraka Moon’s orbit bringing their distinctive melodic and driving dance elements to the mix.
