Paul McNees: Koinonia Music Fest

Koinonia Music Fest (Koinonia is the anglicisation of a Greek word (κοινωνία) that means communion by intimate participation; or better, a third mind created between two minds in communion). Performers from the "experimental" music community speak about their work and then do a short performance. The evening concludes in a Q & A with the audience and all the performers.

The aim is three-fold: one is to provide a context through which those unfamiliar with experimental music may come to appreciate its more subtle beauty. Another is to allow long-time listeners a chance to hear about the intimate inner workings of the music they love. Lastly, to create a rich dialogue between artists whose paths may not have otherwise crossed.

RDuckShow/Riz Orkestra and Guillermo Galindo!
"Empty Strategy: Post Modern and Vintage Sound Puzzles"
A synthesis of acoustic and electronic instruments exploring the boundaries and junctions of spontaneous music with traditional and
technological viewpoints. And Guillermo Galindo:
Guillermo's (aka gal* in_dog) latest work is based on the human voice, resonance and acoustic spaces and alternative tuning systems.
During his performance he will be creating a live piece using voice and resonance activating physical objects in situ.

8pm to 10pm, 2133 University
